Join us in this role where you’ll be part of the fast-moving Intraday Trading team, responsible for balancing and optimizing the value gained from the renewable power production from our extensive offshore wind portfolio. You’ll be part of a duty roster where the team actively trades the intraday power markets 24/7, 365 days a year, and continuously works on improving our trading strategies and the technical set-up we work within. Together, you’ll create real-world value from our renewable energy assets.
Welcome to European Power
You’ll be part of Short Term Power Trading where you, together with your colleagues, will provide the route to market for our offshore wind portfolio, executing on trading strategies and opportunities in the market while keeping the portfolio in balance. You’ll be working in a team of eight bright and dedicated colleagues where you’ll be trading within the rapidly changing world of power markets and constantly adapting to the situation. You’ll work closely with other traders and quants, sharing your thoughts and ideas to create the best strategy.

You’ll play an important role in:
- participating in the 24/7 duty roster, covering 365 days a year, as part of a shift rotation
- balancing and optimizing our power position in Europe, by using auctions, IntraDay market, imbalance market, interconnectors and aftermarket
- monitoring, developing, and deciding on short-term trading strategies for our entire portfolio while monitoring our risk and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations
- generating and driving improvement ideas for our analytical set-up, trading strategies, and operational set-up.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have an understanding of the energy markets and financial products
- ideally have knowledge of the European power market focused around intraday, capacity trading, and the imbalance market in UK, Netherlands, and Germany, however other relevant backgrounds will also be considered
- demonstrate enthusiasm, possess logical reasoning skills and seek to contribute to the development of trading strategies
- remain calm in high-pressure situations and alert during quieter periods
- are skilled at multitasking, maintaining oversight, and making quick decisions and responses
- are a team player and willing to go the extra mile when needed to support your colleagues
- are aligned with partial work hours on weekends and holidays as well as evening and awake night shifts on rotation and understand that shift work hours will be performed onsite at the office.
