Head of Future Investment

Imagine a future where you lead the strategic direction for UK West, focusing on turbine lifetime extension, opportunities for repowering, and operating in a post-subsidy environment

Join us in this role where you’ll lead the development and execution of long-term strategic plans that will determine the future of assets in UK West. You’ll align efforts across different strategic areas in Orsted and maximize value creation through business case analysis and forecasting.

 

Welcome to Generation UK West

You’ll be part of the Generation UK West team where you, together with your colleagues, will navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, cultivate robust relationships, and act as the primary liaison between the organization and external partners. As a team, we foster collaboration and support for strategic initiatives.

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leading strategic initiatives that provide long-term clarity for the future of UK West
  • serving as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, providing insights and recommendations
  • influencing decision-making at the highest levels by presenting compelling business cases and analysis
  • facilitating strategic discussions with executive leadership to drive consensus and commitment
  • overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring they are executed effectively and deliver the intended outcomes
  • championing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • acting as the primary liaison between the organisation and external partners, ensuring clear communication and mutual understanding of strategic objectives.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • possess strong strategic thinking, planning and implementation skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
  • have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on driving measurable results
  • have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels
  • build and lead effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals
  • are knowledgeable about offshore wind regulatory and commercial frameworks
  • have experience in budgeting, cost control, and project management
  • are resilient and adaptable, able to lead through ambiguity and change
  • have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field (master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
