HV Manager (Nearshore)

Imagine a future where you lead the maintenance and operational safety of our high-voltage (HV) assets, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for the overall maintenance, operational, and safety switching of HV assets, including WTG HV switchgear, export and array cables, and onshore/offshore substations under OMAs (Nearshore). You will ensure that all HV operations are performed in accordance with Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules (ØESR) and manage the HV Service Team to achieve cost-effective and safe operations.

You’ll be part of the OFTO / HV team where you, together with your colleagues, will ensure the highest standards of safety and performance in managing our HV assets.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • ensure compliance with contractual obligations towards OFTO in UK/non-UK HV assets
  • recruit, develop, and manage the HV Service Team(s) in accordance with business needs
  • prepare budget and cost control, including forecasts when required
  • ensure an agreed format and content of reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • continuously seek to optimize availability in the most cost-effective and safe way
  • manage the preparation of an operation & maintenance management program and analysis for cost-benefit improvements and optimizations
  • ensure the safe execution of HV switching operations in accordance with ØESR
  • develop and maintain a centralized control and planning function
  • support the development of business initiatives such as the emergency response plan.

To succeed in the role, you: 

  • have HSE knowledge of UK legislation relating to both general safety and electrical safety
  • possess in-depth knowledge of electrical systems and HV equipment, with knowledge of UK and EU safety regulations relating to HV work activities
  • have experience in heavy industry, including designing and building technical departments, developing and implementing process improvements, and experience in Operations & Maintenance and Project environments
  • hold a technical education, such as an Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • have excellent influencing skills, with a personable, patient, and collaborative style
  • have documented management skills.
