Imagine a future where you’re part of a fast-growing, high-focus team and provide specialist fisheries support for the largest offshore wind farm portfolio
Join us in this role where you’ll be part of the UK Commercial Fisheries team working on a portfolio of projects through all the stages of development, construction, and operation. You'll be responsible for managing collaborative relationships with our fisheries stakeholders and ensuring that our offshore wind projects continue to co-exist positively with the fishing industry.
Welcome to Environment and Consents
You’ll be part of the Stakeholders and Market Development team where you, together with your colleagues, will focus on activities relating to gaining consent for offshore wind farms and then the impacts of building and operating the assets. You’ll provide support to maintain and improve on our positive relationships with our internal and external stakeholders, ensuring projects can carry out the tasks they need to in a constructive manner with the fishing industry. As a team, we like to think outside the box and challenge ourselves to approach projects in new and more effective ways. We share information and take time to communicate, explain, and share our thoughts with one another and support each other’s development. We’re passionate about the work we do and take pride in individual and team accomplishments.
You’ll play an important role in:
- attending meetings with fishermen and fisheries associations and managing FIRs, OFLOs, and CFAs
- liaising with internal stakeholders, particularly commercial managers, to ensure the implementation of the fisheries strategy within projects and in market development
- standardisation of our commercial fisheries approach across the portfolio through the development of tools and processes
- supporting the wider team and portfolio on any fisheries-related derogation and mitigation measures, where we’re taking an industry-leading position
- representing our organisation in industry groups and forums.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in a related subject, such as ecology or environmental science
- have experience working within the fisheries or commercial fisheries sector
- possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to communicate your messages smoothly and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders at all organisational levels
- understand the UK-wide relevant planning, licensing, and consenting regimes and how they are applicable to this specialist topic
- have experience with stakeholder management in relation to a large project or a portfolio of projects, preferably in the context of the offshore wind or fishing industries.
